AI research articles: present and future

Academic research is undergoing a true revolution.

On 10/18/25, an article appeared in the newspaper El País written by Dr. Javier Sampedro: «Terminator becomes a librarian»It discusses the dangers of malpractice in relation to academic research articles. An AI bot is being used., BERT, to scan and review them. 101% of them are of poor or no quality. There are paper mills that produce articles using AI, blatantly repeating existing ones or cosmetically reformulating them. It has become a business that disregards ethics and harms science, research, and society as a whole. The use of AI in research is unstoppable and growing.
